SUPPORT COACHING
BE FULLY PRESENT AT YOUR LOVED ONE’S END OF LIFE
For most of us, our experience of death first comes through the dying of a loved one, often more than once before our own death, and most of us lack the skills to be able to support and deeply connect with a dying loved one. As a result, we miss out on fully being present in the remaining time in our loved one’s life, often leading to increased feelings of guilt or remorse after their death.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Building on the personal work in examining your own mortality, Support Coaching will help you build the tools to be present and connected with your loved ones at the end of their lives, without projecting your own fear or anxiety.
This work includes:
Exploring effective communication with a dying person including needs that are specific to your relationship.
How to engage with a dying person without projecting your own fears and anxieties.
Determining what will make the most meaning in your relationship.
End of life planning options, including Representative Agreements and Advance Care Directives.
Dying in the home versus dying in a hospital.
Understanding the option of Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID).
Making the decision to euthanize a pet.
It is possible to feel supportive and connected to your loved one during their end of life, and to make informed, empowered decisions.
